When creating detail-mode handrails, it is now possible to connect handrail components, like posts and gates, to the supporting steel. This enables the following additional functionality for handrails once configured:
- Side-mounted posts are automatically adjusted to suit sections of different sizes.
- Welds may be added to posts with correct connection references.
- The Rules Engine may be used to assign properties to posts.
The elements to connect to can be defined as part of the handrail creation workflow. The Route Definition page on the Create Handrail form has a new button for Handrail Connections
After creation, individual handrail connections can be modified in the Handrail Components form.
Since they may now have connections, handrail components have now been added to the Connection Review form :
